Chi Phi Bar

One of the traditions is for each class to improve the house in some major fashion.  One class decided to create a portable bar.  They asked for my advice and I agreed to help them.  Using my past experience I taught them how to build a solid structure and stain the wood for the desired finish.  The exterior was covered in a veneer and trimmed with molding.  Everything was heavily stained to match the dark woodwork inside of our house.  The exposed sides were covered in a polyurethane clear coat for protection.  Inspired by old pubs and signage I came up with a classic design for ornamenting the bar top.  Using gold paint I added a bold boarder and a simplified central crest.  This was then coated with Aristocrat epoxy for durable protection.
