Chi Phi Table
Each year before the school year starts the brothers of Chi Phi return to 32 Hereford Street for work week. During this time the John F. Andrew house is thoroughly cleaned, maintained, and improved. In 2013 I designed and built a new table for our basement. Working with other brothers a basketball court and patriotic theme were chosen. After several iterations the designs were finalized and construction began. I hand selected wood and finished it with a light stain. On top of this I laid out the design for painting. Utilizing my experience from painting cars I spent long hours on the preparation so that the actual painting would go smoothly and produce the desired results. With the layout and masking complete I moved on to the actual painting using Japanese oil signage paint. To protect everything I put down a layer of Aristocrat self-leveling epoxy.
