Infinity Table

An infinity table works by using two mirrors to reflect light back and forth before it passes through one of them and is observed.  Unlike a traditional infinity table which has a normal mirror at the back and a one way mirror at the front my table uses one way mirrors on both sides.  The disadvantage of two one way mirrors is their reflective efficiency is reduced so fewer layers are observed.  However because I designed a table with an open bottom the infinity effect can be observed from below as well.  Another unique characteristic is the ability to see straight through the table when the lights are off.  I used 2 1/4" 24" x 48" sheets of glass for the mirrors.  I applied a film to each in order to transform them into one way mirrors.  I build the frame from stained oak.  For lighting I chose RGB LEDs so that I can change colors and lighting patterns.  This table provides 15 layers of observable repetition.
