Welding
I started welding by enrolling in welding classes at the Southern California Regional Occupation Center (SCROC) in 2010. There I got certified in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding techniques as well as the use of oxyacetylene torches and plasma cutters. With all three welding techniques I was certified in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead welding with mild steel. Additionally, I was certified to weld stainless steel and aluminum with GTAW.
Since taking these classes and getting certified I have continued to practice mainly via automotive practice. For several years I worked at Sports Car Classics as a fabricator, restoring and customizing classic cars. In college I joined MIT Motorsports and spent a majority of my time fabricating chassis and suspensions by welding together steel tubular space frames. I also welded some aluminum components including the radiator for cooling.
